SCJS Training, Saturday 5th November 2011, Fritham Plain New Forest

Our next training session is on Saturday 5th November 2011, at Fritham Plain, New Forest. This will be a joint training session with the North West Junior Squad. The training will be split into two sessions:
• AM - Training on Fritham Plain
• PM – Sprint races at SWJS event at Sandy Balls

So that we can attend the sprint event we are starting earlier than usual at 10am and the pick up point at the end of the day will be different from the morning meeting point.

The meeting point for the morning session is at grid reference is SU230140, http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=423025&Y=114056&A=Y&Z=115 . Parking is in a Forestry Commission public car park. Directions to the training are given below:
• Leave M27 at Junction 1
• Turn right at roundabout onto B3079 to Stoney Cross
• Continue through Brook
• Then left onto B3078 signed Fordingbridge and Fritham (note road junction is virtually straight ahead as B3079 curves around to the right)
• 2kms to crossroads turn left signed Fritham.
• 1km turn right signed Fritham
• Continue 1.5km through Fritham passing Royal Oak pub to car park - which will be O signed

The pick up point in the afternoon will be at the SWJS event at Sandy Balls, not at Fritham Plain, grid reference SU168143, http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=416850&Y=114350&A=Y&Z=115. Details about the sprint event can be found at http://www.sarumo.org.uk/index.html.

Colin Hicks has planned a number of courses, based up a previous SOC training event, which will cover all junior squad abilities.

Please arrive by 0945 for a 1000 start, we will finish around 1500 to 1530 depending upon our sprint start times. Remember to bring £1 per junior to cover the morning training activities. The cost for the sprint event is £2 for juniors and £6 for adults. Also remember to bring drinking water, lunch and sun cream or wet weather protection depending upon the weather forecast.

Please respond by email to confirm if you will be attending the training by end of day on Wednesday 2nd November. If you are attending then to speed up the entry process for the SWJS sprint event, please pre-enter the event before the closing date (2nd November).
