Good Results from Junior World Championships

This week, 3rd to 8th July 2006, the junior world championships were held in Lithuania. Conditions were reportedly very warm which made things difficult for all the competitors.

Current squaddie, Anne Edwards did well in her first world championships, the highlight probably being 36th on the Long course and first British woman. Anne also qualified for the Middle Distance 'A' final and came 47th.

Recent squaddie, Lizzie Adams, also competed well, and also made the Middle Distance 'A' final, coming 38th.

Lizzie and Anne, together with Ruth Holmes, made up the top British relay women's team, and came 16th, beating the second British team by a couple of minutes.

Full results, together with Split Graphs and a nifty 'Route Gadget' tool [give it a try - load up the course, think about where you would have gone and then see how the top juniors did it!], can be found on the JWOC2006 website, www.losf.lt/jwoc2006
